SEOUL — U.S. Forces Korea officials are disputing a South Korean newspaper’s Thursday report stating that the 2nd Infantry Division will become a unit that rotates on and off the peninsula.

The Kyunghyang Shinmun claims that 2nd ID will rotate “is a complete fabrication,” USFK commander Gen. B.B. Bell stated in a command press release sent out Thursday afternoon.

“Uninformed speculation and fabrication about the future of the United States commitment on the Korean peninsula are not helpful,” Bell said in the release.
