U.S. Air Forces in Europe will offer $5,000 in scholarships for qualified members of its Boys and Girls Clubs of America youth centers.

A $3,000 scholarship and a $2,000 scholarship will go to the winner and runner-up of the overseas Youth of the Year program. Candidates must be aged 14 through 18, members of their local Air Force youth center, good students and have contributed service to their community and family.

Interested students should apply through their youth center and submit examples of how they are leaders and servants within their home, family, school, youth program and community. Applicants should submit letters, press clippings or other documentation of their efforts.

Each Air Force base will select a Youth of the Year candidate whose package will be forwarded to USAFE Services by March 14. All finalists will be interviewed.

The theater winner will then head to the National Youth of the Year program sponsored by the Reader’s Digest Association. The national winner will receive $10,000.
