U.S. Air Forces in Europe recently announced winners of its 2003 Outstanding Security Forces Individual Awards.

Individuals are nominated by their commands and evaluated by a panel that assigns points based on job performance, community service, self-improvement, appearance and bearing standards.

The winners are:

¶ Outstanding security forces grade officer: 1st Lt. Jeffrey S. Adams, Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany.

¶ Outstanding security forces support staff senior noncommissioned officer: Master Sgt. Jody R. Butler, Keflavik Naval Air Station, Iceland.

¶ Outstanding security forces flight-level senior noncommissioned officer: Master Sgt. Richard D. Bruno, Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

¶ Outstanding security forces support staff noncommissioned officer: Tech Sgt. Latina D. Issacks, Keflavik.

¶ Outstanding security forces flight-level noncommissioned officer: Tech Sgt. Michael Phillips, Spangdahlem Air Base, Germany.

¶ Outstanding security forces support staff airman: Staff Sgt. Zankeista Melton, Keflavik.

¶ Outstanding security forces flight-level airman: Senior Airman Jacqueline Hilinski, Keflavik.

¶ Outstanding security forces civilian employee: Patricia D. Gilmore, Ramstein.

¶ Outstanding Security Forces Higher Headquarters Company Grade Officer: Capt. Michael E. Gimbrone, Ramstein.

¶ Outstanding security forces higher headquarters noncommisioned officer: Tech Sgt. Benson W. McAllister, Ramstein.

¶ Col. Billy Jack Carter award: Capt. Michael A. Evancic, Ramstein.

¶ Outstanding security forces individual mobilization augmentee: Staff Sgt. Peter P. Sheirs, RAF Lakenheath.

¶ Outstanding security forces higher headquarters civilian employee: Steven C. Long, Ramstein.
