Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., was put on lock down for three hours Saturday while local Biloxi police searched for a domestic violence suspect, local media reported.

The suspect, who was believed to have a gun, was seen headed toward the air base, TV station WLOX-13 in Biloxi reported.

The base, which was hosting the 40th annual Mississippi Special Olympics, was put on lock down while the search for the man continued.

The man was eventually arrested off base and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a stolen firearm, and disorderly conduct. The man told police he was never on Keesler property, WLOX-13 reported.
