(Tribune News Service) — Funeral services will be held this week for Nicole M. Amor, the Minnesota soldier who was killed in Kuwait during the start of Operation Epic Fury earlier this month.
Amor, 39, was just days away from returning home to White Bear Lake, where she lived with her husband and two children. She was killed in Port Shuaiba on March 1 along with five other soldiers the day after the U.S. and Israel launched military strikes against Iran.
A public visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at Mueller Memorial in White Bear Lake. A memorial service will be held the following day at noon on Friday at Eagle Brook Church, 2401 Buffalo St., White Bear Lake, with doors opening at 11 a.m.
Amor’s interment will be held privately at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In her obituary, Amor is described as an amazing wife, mother and friend.
“Nicole had a way of being everyone’s mother and best friend at the same time,” the obituary read. “She loved with all of her heart, and she always knew exactly when to throw that perfectly timed sarcastic remark your way.”
She is survived by her husband, Joey; son, Owen; and daughter, Adeline; as well as her parents and siblings.
Amor loved being out in her garden. In lieu of flowers or direct donations, those moved to donate funds can contribute to plans to build a greenhouse in Amor’s honor via Nicole’s website, Operation Nikki’s Embrace.
