Spc. Terry Frye, of the Indiana National Guard, has been identified as the soldier killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-65 in Boone County, Ind., on Friday.

Frye and three other soldiers assigned to Company D, 2nd Battalion, 151st Infantry Regiment, were traveling in a convoy from the Frankfort Armory to Camp Atterbury for training on a drill weekend when the accident occurred.

Frye, from Lafayette, served in the Guard since March 2020 as an infantryman with Company D in Frankfort.

The crash is under investigation, and the status and condition of the other three soldiers will be updated later, the Indiana National Guard said in a statement Monday.
