West Virginia National Guard soldiers did the heavy lifting during the weekend in an effort to deliver food to those in need.
The Guard joined the statewide Operation Feeding Families to collect and deliver hundreds of meal boxes supplied by the Mountaineer Food Bank to families in need of supplemental food.
“They are doing the full gamut,” said Maj. Gen. Jim Seward, the West Virginia National Guard Adjutant General. “From unloading trucks to palletizing boxes that they’ve created with food, loading those on trucks [and] driving them across the state.”
