KABUL, Afghanistan — An attempt by the Taliban to hit Bagram Air Field injured two Afghan civilians outside the base, officials said Saturday.
Bagram is the largest U.S. military base in Afghanistan and has been the target of several rocket attacks in the past.
A rocket fired late Friday targeted the base but instead hit a civilian house east of the perimeter, said Mohammad Zaman Mamozai, the provincial police chief.
NATO confirmed that indirect fire struck “in the vicinity” of Bagram Air Field on Friday, but said there were no coalition casualties.
