NAPLES, Italy — A Bahrain-based sailor died Tuesday in a motorcycle accident. Petty Officer 1st Class Stacy Oredia Johnson, 36, originally of Rolling Fork, Miss., died in the accident near the town of Zallaq, about 18 miles southwest of Naval Support Activity Bahrain, according to a Navy statement.

A second sailor riding as a passenger was injured and is in stable condition, the statement reads.

Johnson, a master-at-arms assigned to Naval Security Force Bahrain, joined the Navy in November 1993 and had been stationed in Bahrain since September 2010.

He had no family with him in Bahrain, but stateside family has been notified, according to Navy spokeswoman Jennifer Stride.

Stride said the Naval Criminal Investigative Service is investigating.
