A servicemember working with the Combined Joint Task Force directing coalition operations against Islamic State militants died of a non-combat-related injury in Iraq on Thursday, the coalition said.
The coalition did not identify the nationality of the servicemember, saying it defers identification to national authorities. It gave no further details.
Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve is the U.S.-led coalition fighting Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.
Last month, an American servicemember was killed during a raid by Kurdish and American commandos to free hostages at an Islamic State prison near Hawijah.
