Around 26 soldiers and civilian contractors of the Catholic faith deployed to Forward Operating Base Salerno, Aghanistan, attend an Easter vigil to commemorate the life, death, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ Saturday night.

At a forward operating base in Afghanistan, a small congregation comprised of roughly two dozen U.S. troops and civilian contractors attended an Easter vigil held Saturday night.

Led by an Army chaplain at FOB Salerno in Khost province, Afghanistan, the small gathering commemorated the life, death, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

During the Saturday evening event, some of the attendees were confirmed into the Catholic faith.
