RAF MILDENHALL, ENGLAND — A small panel from a landing gear door fell off a KC-135 while in flight Thursday.

The Stratotanker was on a routine refueling mission over England when the 1- by 2-foot panel came loose from the aircraft, base officials announced Friday in a news release.

The debris is not hazardous. Anyone who finds the panel should contact local authorities immediately.

Base officials said the flight crew did not determine the panel was missing until it arrived back at the base after the mission and did not know where it fell off.

For more information contact the 100th Air Refuelling RW Public Affairs office at +44 (0) 1638-542654.
