NAPLES, Italy — A Sunday driving ban in Naples for autos that do not meet "eco-friendly" standards will not affect U.S. and NATO military and civilians driving vehicles registered with Allied Forces Italy plates.
Certain cars are barred from downtown between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. under the city’s anti-smog plan.
While drivers with AFI plates are exempt from the ban, motorists should be prepared to present vehicle registration forms to local authorities. The ban also does not affect public transportation, including taxis and bus service.
