European briefs: AAFES gas prices to drop
Most gas prices in Europe will fall slightly for the week starting on Saturday at Army and Air Force Exchange Service pumps.
The prices for unleaded, super unleaded and super plus unleaded are decreasing by one or two cents per gallon in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
In Germany, for example, the price of regular unleaded will drop from $3.165 per gallon to $3.147. The cost of diesel increased by a penny per gallon in Germany and six cents per gallon in the Netherlands.
In Italy, the price of unleaded remained unchanged at $3.747 per gallon, but the price of diesel will rise.
A 100-liter book of diesel coupons in Italy currently costs $105, but on Saturday will go up to $111, according to Bart Di Muccio, manager of the Tax-Free Office in Naples. That represents a price-per-gallon increase from $3.975 to $4.202.
