The Army and Air Force Exchange Service has set up a mobile field exchange near Houston to support troops aiding victims of Hurricane Ike.

The 53-foot trailer has operated since Sunday at Ellington Field, an airport 15 miles south of Houston. Seven employees, including personnel from Lackland Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston, are on hand, according to a press release.

In addition to locally deployed troops, members of the Army and Air Force National Guard and Texas State Guard and reservists from the Navy, Coast Guard and Marines are in the area helping displaced Gulf Coast residents.
