The Campaign for Accountability of American Bases — a group that protest the American presence in the United Kingdom — stated on its website that Lindis Percy, the group’s coordinator, will stage a hunger strike outside the base as part of the Global Weekend of Action on the Guantanamo Hunger Strike.

Percy has a long history of protesting. A 2002 article on The Guardian’s website notes that she has been arrested hundreds of times for protests and had been jailed for violating an order not to enter any of five American bases in the U.K.

Her group stages a two-hour protest against the U.S. presence in the U.K. outside RAF Menwith Hill every Tuesday, according to the campaign’s website.
