WIESBADEN, Germany — U.S. Army Europe has extended its annual housing survey for servicemembers living off base in Germany and up to 20 other countries due to low participation.

The survey, which was due to end March 31, has been extended through April. 15, officials said.

The current survey, available online at: defensetravel.dod.mil/site/ohaSurvey.cfm?ID=mar-utilmiha, measures utility/recurring maintenance allowance and move-in expenses, components of overseas housing allowance.

“Currently we are at an overall participation rate of 19 percent for both the utility and move-in housing allowance for all services,” said William Gordon, chief of military pay policy for U.S. Army Europe. “We need to reach at least 33 percent participation rate in order to have a valid survey.”
