STUTTGART, Germany — Maj. Gen. Michael S. Repass assumed command of Special Operations Command Europe during a ceremony Monday at Patch Barracks.

Repass replaced Maj. Gen. Frank J. Kisner, who has been selected for his third star and will serve as the NATO Special Operations Headquarters commanding general in Belgium.

Repass served as the deputy commander of SOCEUR from February 2006 to June 2008. He is returning to SOCEUR after commanding U.S.

Army Special Forces Command (Airborne) since June 2008.
