SPANGDAHLEM, Germany — Spangdahlem Air Base officials this week lifted the ban on a popular nightclub near the installation after safety changes were made there.
Col. Christopher Weggeman, the 52nd Fighter Wing commander, rescinded a ban that had been in place for one month on Zur Kajüte after management improved exits and lowered the occupancy rate, according to a base news release.
U.S. military commanders occasionally institute bans on local businesses deemed unsafe or unreliable for uniformed personnel.
The nightclub, in the town of Binsfeld, has been a favorite hangout for airmen since the late 1960s.
