Post-allowance rates for Department of Defense civilians based in Belgium, Italy and Spain are on the rise, while rates for those based in Germany, England and the Netherlands remained unchanged, according to information posted Sunday on a State Department website.

Cost-of-Living Allowance rates for most U.S. troops in Europe also rose last week.

The euro has fallen in recent weeks against the dollar, trading near $1.30 on Monday. The euro reached a four-year low on June 8, falling below $1.20, causing COLA post-allowance rates to plunge.
