WIESBADEN, GERMANY — A Wiesbaden café is sponsoring a talent show Thursday night for would-be singers, musicians, comedians and even a poet or two.

The open mike night is a collaborative effort involving U.S. soldiers based in Wiesbaden and local German residents. The event at the Park Café, Wilhelmstrasse 36, starts at 8 p.m., and a food buffet is planned.

As of Tuesday afternoon, at least 15 people had signed up for the event, said Sahra Tawakol, an event spokeswoman. No advance notice is necessary. Tawakol said performers can show up on the night of the event and register.

Performers will have about 10 minutes on stage, enough time Tawakol said for a couple of songs, routines or poems.
