AVIANO, Italy — The Defense Commissary Agency has appointed a new Europe-area director to replace Cheryl L. Conner, who is retiring.
Norman E. Brown, who has served as executive officer to the DeCA director since January 2011, will take over as director July 28. Conner retires July 31, concluding 32 years of federal service.
“Norm’s wealth of knowledge and expertise as a headquarters executive officer and a commissary leader will serve the agency well as director of the Europe Area,” Joseph H. Jeu, DeCA director and CEO was quoted as saying in a news release. “We have every confidence that his track record of success will continue in this important overseas assignment.”
Brown will oversee 39 commissaries in 10 countries.
Conner has served as the Europe Area director since August 2011.
