BAMBERG, Germany — The second annual Installation Management Command-Europe combatives tournament will be Feb. 26-28 at the Freedom Fitness Facility on Warner Barracks.

The tournament, conducted by U.S. Army Europe’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation department, is open to active-duty men and women. Fighters will be divided into seven weight classes.

The first round will be a grappling round, said Steve Van Fleet, head official for the tournament. In the semifinal round, the rules will loosen allowing open-hand strikes and kicks to the body and head, he said.

The final round will mirror mixed-martial arts competitions, where closed fists are permitted.

The uniform for the tournament is the Army Combat Uniform. Soldiers interested in competing should e-mail Ernest Johnson at: ernest.johnson@eur.army.mil.

Sign-up deadline is Feb. 18.
