WIESBADEN, Germany — Army and Air Force Exchange Service customers in Germany will not be able to purchase fuel at AAFES gas stations or use their fuel ration card at off-post Esso stations for a five-hour period Sunday morning, according to a news release.

The scheduled system outage will occur between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. Central European Time, AAFES officials announced Monday. During the shutdown, AAFES also will not be able to issue or replace fuel ration cards, add money to fuel card accounts or do balance/ration inquiries.

The outage is necessary for AAFES to reset computer mainframe system clocks and perform critical system maintenance and software upgrades, according to the release. The outage coincides with the start of daylight-saving time in the United States.
