KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Breastfeeding mothers are invited to show their support for breastfeeding and be part of an effort to set a worldwide record for simultaneous breastfeeding at an open house Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Ramstein Air Base’s Donnelly Park Pavillion.

MoM2MoM KMC is hosting the event, which will include a community information fair with representatives from local organizations that support breastfeeding and families with young children, according to a news release from the group.

The open house coincides with World Breastfeeding Week, Aug. 1 to 7. To mark the occasion, thousands of breastfeeding women and their children are expected to gather in communities across the world to take part in the “Big Latch On,” a synchronized breastfeeding event in multiple locations. The local latch-on event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at Donnelly Park.
