WIESBADEN, Germany — A U.S. military plane went down in the fields outside of Wiesbaden Army Airfield in Germany Wednesday at approximately 3:30 p.m., according to an Army news release.

According to the release, two pilots were on board the aircraft, and both were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

German and U.S. forces emergency workers responded to the scene, where an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the accident.

Local police spokeswoman Petra Volk told The Associated Press that the plane was an RC 12 turboprop. United States Army Europe spokesman Dan Meyers said the plane belonged to the Wiesbaden-based 66th Military Intelligence Brigade.pattonm@estripes.osd.mil
