Kaiserslautern, Germany — Americans and Germans shared space and beer in Kaiserslautern, Germany as their respective soccer teams faced off in the final game of group play in the 2014 World Cup.
With around 50,000 people, including military servicemembers, Department of Defense civilians and contractors as well as their families, the Kaiserslautern Military Community is the largest U.S. community outside of the United States.
The U.S. will advance to the World Cup's knockout phase despite losing to Germany 1-0.
