WIESBADEN, Germany — The leader of the Wiesbaden-based 5th Signal Command took the eagle off his chest and replaced it with a star on Tuesday.
Brig. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford’s promotion comes a little more than a year after he took the reins of the unit.
The command, with more than 3,000 troops, civilian workers and family members, is the largest active-duty theater signal command in the Army and serves as the main network provider for U.S. Army Europe, U.S. Africa Command and U.S. European Command.
The unit also oversees two subordinate brigades in Germany: the 2nd Theater Strategic Signal Brigade, headquartered in Wiesbaden, and the 7th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade, headquartered in Schweinfurt.
