KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Army Spc. Michael M. Mena was sentenced Thursday to 13 months confinement and a bad conduct discharge after he pleaded guilty to larceny of government equipment.

Mena was also sentenced to forfeit all pay and allowances and reduced to private Thursday on Kleber Kaserne.

Mena stole about $11,500 worth of government equipment from the Warrior Preparation Center, which provides computer-simulated training in Einsiedlerhof, Germany. Nearly all of the stolen property was recovered.

Airman pleads guilty to pot useAVIANO AIR BASE, Italy — An airman assigned to the 31st Logistics Readiness Squadron pleaded guilty to marijuana use in a summary court-martial Thursday.

Senior Airman Christopher Carlin was charged with multiple use of the illegal substance between December 2004 and July 2005, according to a release from the 31st Fighter Wing public affairs office. He was sentenced to forfeiture of $713 in pay, restriction to base for 12 days and 18 days confinement.
