High school juniors are invited to apply for the U.S. Naval Academy Summer Seminar 2005. There are three sessions from which to choose — June 4-9, June 11-16 and June 18-23.
The cost for the week is $300, which covers room, board, meals and an Annapolis T-shirt, plus transportation costs. The academy can coordinate transportation from a Washington-area airport, preferably Baltimore-Washington International Airport.
According to Marine Lt. Col. George Whitbeck, the contact in Germany for the program, the goal is for students to visit the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., and experience the academic program, physical training and midshipmen life.
The Naval Academy would work with DODDS-Europe schools to choose a session that best fits with the student’s school schedule.
