Europe briefs: Airman sentenced for assaulting colleague
RAF LAKENHEATH, England — A senior airman was sentenced Thursday to 13 months confinement and a reduction to E-1 and given a bad-conduct discharge for sodomizing and indecently assaulting a fellow senior airman.
Senior Airman Jeffrey M. Robles, 22, of the 48th Component Maintenance Squadron at RAF Lakenheath, England, was found guilty of charges that centered on an incident on or about Sept. 24, 2005, during a house party at his residence in Holywell Row. He was convicted after the defense failed to convince the judge that the incident was consensual.
Time change will affect AFN schedulesSome American Forces Network radio and television programming will be affected by Europe’s switch to daylight-saving time this weekend.
Because the time won’t change in the States until next weekend, some radio and TV programs will be aired one hour later, or not at all, according to an AFN news release. The programming times will be affected for only one week.
The schedule for the AFN Power Network radio channel for next week:
9-10 a.m.: News shows.10-11 a.m.: “Sports Overnight America.”6-7 p.m.: ESPN Cowherd.7-8 p.m.: “The Rush Limbaugh Show.” “Dr. Laura,” which normally runs from 7 to 8 p.m., will not be aired.On the television side, most programs will be aired at their normal times. Live events in the U.S., such as sporting events, will be shown one hour later than normal, the news release stated.
