In an extraordinary symbol of unity, the two Koreas marched together into Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium, walking under the blue-and-white “unification flag,” as the 2018 Winter Olympics kicked off in South Korea on Friday.

The anticipation was palpable as the huge crowd waited for opening cerembrowsed souvenirs, ate Korean food and watched performances showcasing Korean history and culture.
