CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Maj. Gen. Mary Ann Krusa-Dossin will relinquish command of Marine Corps Base Camp Smedley D. Butler to Brig. Gen. Peter J. Talleri during a change-of-command ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday on Camp Foster.

Krusa-Dossin plans to retire after 35 years of service, according to a Marine Corps news release. She assumed command of Butler in September 2006. Prior to that, she was director of Marine Corps Public Affairs at the Pentagon.

Talleri comes to Okinawa from New Cumberland, Penn., where he served as commander of Defense Distribution, Defense Logistics Agency.

Talleri is no stranger to Okinawa. From July 2006 to June 2008, he commanded the 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Prior to that, he served as the supply and logistics officer for Marine Air Control Group-18 from 1994 to 1997 and was Supply Company commander for the 3rd Supply Battalion, 3rd Force Service Support Group from 1986 to 1988.

Marine Corps Base Butler consists of all Marine bases and satellite facilities on Okinawa except Marine Corps Air Station Futenma.
