SEOUL — Two groups and two squadrons were deactivated during a ceremony Friday at Osan Air Base, South Korea, as part of a larger U.S. Air Force effort to streamline operations, according to the 7th Air Force.

Affected units are: the 607th Logistics Readiness Group, the 607th Support Group, the 607th Air Support Squadron and the 607th Air and Space Communication Squadron.

The move will have little impact on the 306 personnel involved because they are being absorbed by other units, said 7th Air Force spokeswoman Maj. Denise Kerr.

Kerr said the groups were too small to be groups, and the move frees up key leaders to do other jobs.
