YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan — An unarmed masked intruder broke into an on-base apartment last week but did not harm anyone or steal anything, base officials said Tuesday.
The intruder entered an apartment on July 26 at Ichiban Tower through an unlocked door, Yokosuka Naval Base spokeswoman Michelle Stewart said.
Base security received a call from the residence at 4:37 a.m. that day, Stewart said.
The isolated incident is being investigated by Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which had no further comment Tuesday.
