Department of Defense personnel on Guam can expect traffic congestion and delays to base access during next week’s Shield exercise, according to military officials.
Bases participating in the exercise include U.S. Naval Base Guam, Andersen Air Force Base, U.S. Naval Hospital Guam and U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam.
Designed to enhance the training and readiness of military security personnel to respond to threats to installations and units, the exercise kicks off Monday and concludes March 4, according to a news release.
Disruptions and delays are most likely to occur between 5:20 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on those days, officials said.
