SEOUL — The U.S. Army announced two general officer assignments for South Korea on Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Robin B. Akin will become deputy assistant chief of staff, C-4/J-4, for U.S. Forces Korea, the U.N. Command, and Combined Forces Command. Akin is now commanding general of the 3rd Sustainment Command at Fort Knox, Ky.

Brig. Gen. Timothy J. Edens will become assistant division commander of the 2nd Infantry Division. He is now deputy commanding general/assistant commandant of the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence at Fort Rucker, Ala.

It was not known Friday when Akin and Edens will begin their tours in South Korea.
