A teenager who was the subject of a U.S. Army missing child alert in Japan has been found safe, the service said.

Hana Lily Stefina, 15, was reported missing Wednesday morning but was later discovered at a friend’s off-base home, according to an email sent late that evening by the U.S. Army Japan Command Center.

The Provost Marshal’s Office at Camp Zama, outside Tokyo, confirmed at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday that the teen had been found, the message said.

Earlier in the day, U.S. Army Garrison Japan’s Emergency Operations Center distributed an alert with Stefina’s photograph and other details and asked community members to share the information and report possible sightings.

No additional details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or recovery were released.
