Four individuals were injured Monday in separate rollovers of military vehicles in central Alaska, the Alaska State Troopers said in a news release.

The vehicles were part of an 11th Airborne Division convoy from Fort Wainwright that encountered icy road conditions, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.

The first vehicle turned over in the early afternoon on Richardson Highway near Birch Lake, about 50 miles southeast of Fairbanks.

The driver and both passengers in that vehicle were transported for medical treatment, according to the news release.

The second vehicle, responding to assist with the rollover, flipped over about 4 miles south of the first vehicle, the release said.

The driver of that vehicle was also transported for medical treatment.

The injuries were minor, according to the newspaper report.

The division did not immediately respond to an email query by Stars and Stripes on Tuesday.
