An investigation is being conducted into the weekend death of a Navy officer deployed to the U.S. military’s hub in the east African country of Djibouti, service officials said Friday.

Lt. Erin W. Crider was assigned to Camp Lemonnier, Navy spokesperson Lt. Cmdr. Jason Tross said in a statement. No further information about Crider or the incident was provided.

Crider’s remains arrived Thursday at Dover Air Force Base, Del.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the service member’s loved ones,” Toss said. “Grief counseling service and support are available through the chain of command, mental health providers and chaplains,”
