Youth wrestlers in Europe can polish their skills at the Camp of Champions scheduled for Aug. 1-6 at Vilseck High School, Germany.

Chief instructor at the camp, run by longtime European wrestling figure Duane Werner, is Ron Higdon, coach of the 2010 NCAA Division II champions from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Others scheduled to provide instruction include former European champion Dariusz Jablonski and Polish national champion Emil Kostec, and Thomas Rosner and Marko Greifelt of Germany champion RSV Schonungen. Teddy Nelson, a former Kansas state champion; three-time DODDS-Europe champion Donald Walker; and coaches from the staffs of the 2010 Divisions I, II and III champions from Patch, Baumholder and Sigonella also are expected.

The camp fee is $250, which covers all instruction, lodging, meals and camp gear. Activities are scheduled 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily. Elementary-school wrestlers may opt for a day-camp version for $150, which includes instruction, camp gear and a noon meal.
