Elizabeth Welliver of Yokota Air Base, Japan, helped the All-Air Force team capture the All-Armed Forces women’s soccer tournament title for the second straight year.

The first lieutenant, assigned to U.S. Forces Japan at Yokota, scored in the 87th minute as Air Force shut out the combined Navy-Marine Corps team 4-0 in the tournament’s last match on Monday at Mayport Naval Station in Jacksonville, Fla.

The victory helped Air Force conclude an unbeaten run to its title repeat. The airmen went 3-0-1, the only blemish on their record a 0-0 tie with runner-up Army (2-1-1) on Day 4 of the event. No team scored against Air Force in its four matches.

Welliver also was chosen for the second straight year for the 19-player All-Armed Forces team, which will defend its title in the International Military Sports Council (CISM) championship May 22-31 at Zoutkamp, Netherlands.

Joining Welliver on the All-Armed Forces team is goalkeeper Kim Hemenway, a Navy seaman assigned to the USS Blue Ridge out of Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. The Navy-Marine Corps team finished last at 0-4.
