The Würzburg boys and Vilseck girls won the last two conference titles up for grabs as DODDS-Europe basketball teams finished the regular season Saturday and turned their attention to the European championships beginning Wednesday in Mannheim, Germany.

Würzburg clinched Division II-South by sweeping Vilseck, winning 60-59 in Vilseck on Friday and 46-40 at home Saturday.

The victories raised the Wolves’ conference mark to 5-1, one game better than Black Forest Academy, which swept Mannheim over the weekend. Vilseck, which entered the weekend with an outside chance at the title, finished its conference schedule 2-4.

Würzburg got balanced scoring both days, with B.J. Harvey scoring 14 points, Jamal Caldwell 13 and Korey Workman 13 on Friday, and James Robinson getting 12, Workman 11 and Caldwell 10 on Saturday.

The Vilseck girls also used a balanced attack to clinch the DII-South title by defeating Würzburg 42-27 at home on Friday. Ashley Hicks led Vilseck with 10 points; Shamyra Coleman and Alania McKinnis scored eight each and Alyshea Buckley seven.

Vilseck compiled a perfect conference record by winning 24-19 at Würzburg on Saturday behind 11 points from Hicks and eight from Cathy DelaRosa.

All DODDS-Europe teams qualify for the European tournament, which begins with pool play and ends with championship games in Divisions I and IV on Friday and II and III on Saturday.
