CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Coaches are being sought for a new women’s open softball team called Al’s Place/RockPhins, team organizers said Thursday.

The team, comprised of Marine Corps spouses and dependents, plans to compete in the Pacific Grand Slam tournaments. It has 23 players, organizers said, but needs experienced coaches.

Okinawa triathlon seminar slated for April 25

CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — A triathlon seminar is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. April 25 in the First Command Financial Planning office. The office is on the Korinza Mall’s second level, near Gate 2 of Kadena Air Base.

The seminar is limited to the first 50 people who make reservations. It will include a lecture from a local Ironman distance triathlete. Featured topics include training, recovery, nutrition and racing in Japan and elsewhere in the Pacific.
