HOHENFELS, Germany - Seniors Deraj’ McClinton and Taylor Hall pitched back-to-back three-inning no-hitters Wednesday to propel the Vilseck Falcons to 19-1 and 15-0 Eastern Region high school softball victories over the Hohenfels Tigers.

McClinton faced 13 batters in the run-rule-shortened opener, striking out 10 of them and walking one, according to Vilseck coach Jim Hall.

Vilseck collected nine hits in the game, three of them by Nicole Wheat. Wheat numbered a triple among her output.

Hall kept the no-hit streak going in Game 2, facing just 11 batters and striking out six in another run-rule verdict to help Vilseck improve to 8-0 on the season. The Falcons next are scheduled to host Wiesbaden on Saturday.

Wheat banged out three of Vilseck’s 11 hits and drove in three runs. Ashton Williams and McClinton each stroked two hits, which accounted for three RBIs for Williams and two for McClinton.

Hohenfels (2-6) next is ticketed for a May 12 doubleheader at Wiesbaden.

The Hohenfels baseball team (0-6) forfeited its doubleheader to Vilseck (4-2) on Thursday because it didn’t have enough players.
