In the wake of last Saturday’s postponed Joint Task Force-Kadena regular-season finale, the U.S. Forces Japan-American Football League’s South Division postseason schedule has been revamped to permit the season to finish just one day later than scheduled.

In an e-mail to the league’s coaches, first-year commissioner Sean Dath announced that the JTF-Kadena game would be played Saturday at Kadena Air Base’s McDonald Stadium, with playoff games to follow every five days until the league championship Torii Bowl.

The South semifinal, pitting the No. 3 against the No. 2 team, is scheduled for July 15, followed by the division championship on July 20. To give the winning team an extra day to recuperate, Dath announced he was pushing the Torii Bowl back from July 24 to July 25.

The North Division playoff slate is unaffected by the change, Dath said. Third-place Yokosuka visits No. 2 Misawa on Saturday, followed by the North Division title game on July 17 at Yokota.
