NAVAL STATION ROTA, Spain – K.C. Mason ran 10 yards for a touchdown and passed 40 yards to Terrance Paris for another TD Saturday as the undefeated Rota Admirals cruised into the European Division III championship game with a 44-0 victory over the Alconbury Dragons.

Paris returned a pass interception 35 yards for the first touchdown of the game, which ended at halftime because of the high schools’ 39-point courtesy rule, according to Rota coach Jim Crowell.

Also scoring twice for the Admirals, who’ll take a 7-0 overall record into the Nov. 5 title game at Baumholder, was Nick Holland, who ran into the end zone from 3 and 25 yards out. Both of his scores came in the first quarter.

Ramon Quijano chalked up a second-quarter TD on a 3-yard run.

Anthony Davis again led the defensive charge for Rota, which has shut out six of the seven teams it’s played so far. The Admirals’ defense, which got a pass interception from Carlos Shay, picked up even more help for the title game with the return of defensive end Cody Holland. He posted a sack in his return from a season-long stay on the injured list, Crowell reported.

Alconbury closed its season with a 2-5 overall mark; Rota is to face the winner of Saturday’s other nine-man semifinal between Menwith Hill and Bamberg. Both finalists are to be idle this weekend.
