FORT INDIANTOWN GAP, Pa. — Two Camp Casey-based soldiers and another from Camp Walker were selected Thursday to the All-Army women’s softball team, officials announced.
The 15-player club includes Shakeria Coven and Gretchen McMullen of Camp Casey, the Koreawide post-level women’s champion, and Camp Walker’s Shanon Holman.
Two others assigned to overseas posts were also chosen: Terri Andreoni of Brunnsum in the Netherlands and Michele Saunders of Hawaii’s Schofield Barracks.
They’ll compete in the All-Armed Forces tournament Sept. 8-11 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla. Army, which won the event two years ago, is hoping to unseat defending champion Air Force.
Soccer tryouts Sunday
CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — Those interested in playing for the Marine Corps Base Okinawa soccer team in the Marine Forces Pacific Regional tournament may try out at 3 p.m. Sunday behind the Foster Field House, team officials said Friday.
Practices take place at 6 p.m. every Wednesday and Friday at the same site. The Marine regional tournament is scheduled the week of Sept. 29 on Field 1 at Camp Foster.
