CAMP HENRY, South Korea — Their first loss was a close one. Their second was a “disaster,” as coach Pedro Arocho put it.
The Taegu ACE — composed of soldiers, DOD civilians, contractors, dependents and Korean civilians — fell 15-0 in five innings to the Taegu Rainbow, a Korean team, in Hammer League amateur baseball Sunday.
“Our bats did not work,” said Arocho of an ACE team that had only three hits, a sharp contrast to its 17-16 loss April 3 to the Taegu Magpies. “When we hit the ball, it was either a lazy pop-up or a ball hit right to their [Rainbow’s] fielders.”
ACE pitchers allowed 15 hits in five innings and ACE made six errors.
