SPANGDAHLEM, Germany — Three-time defending European high school Division II softball champion Bitburg wrapped up the regular-season crown with a 19-4, 31-4 sweep of visiting Mannheim.

All-Europe pitcher Tanja Moore picked up both victories, going the four-inning distance in the opener, which was shortened by the 10-run-rule, and combining with freshman Ashley Kazimer in the three-inning second game, which was ended by the two-hour time limit.

Moore, who was 4-for-8 in the doubleheader with six RBIs and a three-run homer, two-hit the Bison in the opener, striking out seven.

Moore and Kazimer, who was 4-for-5 with eight RBIs, struck out 10 in the nightcap.

Kaitlyn Phillips was 5-for-6 with six RBIs, Julie Brei-Crawley was 4-for-8 with five RBIs and Amy Hughen was 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Bitburg.

Mannheim’s Steph Emlingern hit a two-run homer.

Bitburg takes a 5-1 conference record into this week’s European Division II tournament Thursday-Saturday at Landstuhl.

AFNORTH 8-10, Patch 25-6

BRUNSSUM, Netherlands — Aubri West no-hit Patch in the nightcap, and the AFNORTH defense, which committed 13 errors in the opener, cut that total to five to salvage the split.

Patch’s Loren Sanchez allowed one hit and struck out eight in the opener, called after four innings by the mercy rule, but she walked 12. Patch’s Lara Galing went 4-for-5.

Erica Jensen, who managed the only hit off Sanchez in the opener, provided West’s hitting support in the nightcap, going 2-for-3.

Würzburg 15-10, Kaiserslautern 1-11

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — The Lady Raiders tuned up for this week’s Division I tournament by collecting their first victory of the season.

Lakenheath 9-16, Heidelberg 7-8

RAF LAKENHEATH, England — Meghan Quasney picked up her sixth victory of the season in the opener, and she and Erin Davis went a combined 5-for-8 in the nightcap to spark the sweep.

Katie Arthur was 2-for-4 for Heidelberg in the nightcap.
